Daily Living Skills

Once a week, students in our 12 to 21 age group get together to learn how to become more independent, based upon a different skill introduced at the beginning of each month. The 'skill of the month' is addressed and practiced repeatedly until the kids are able to successfully complete the task. Some of the daily living tasks include cooking, laundry, shopping and hygiene.

In a typical pre-school setting, the children stared and stared at my daughter's eye patch.  It made her so uncomfortable – at two years old!!  At BCLC, there was a little girl in her class with an eye patch, and so my daughter felt right at home.  Her vision has become much stronger. This was a gift from BCLC.  Mom - Trish Sullivan
