11th Annual Golf Classic

All who attended Blind Children’s Learning Center’s 11th Annual Golf Classic on Monday, April 30th enjoyed a wonderful day. The tournament was held at Tustin Ranch Golf Club raising over $35,000 to support programs for blind, visually impaired and deaf/blind children in Orange County.

We thank everyone who came out to support this event, especially our presenting sponsor, International Pacific Seafoods (click here for listing of all sponsors and donations). We appreciate Outback Steakhouse of Irvine who provided lunch and Deidrich Coffee provided breakfast and steel coffee mugs for all golfers and the volunteers from Delta Gamma at UCI and Chapman for helping with registration.

The event included a blind-fold putting contest lead by Bill Davis, a blind golfer who is ranked first and second in the US Blind Golf Association and the American Blind Golf Association.

The evening’s activities included cocktails, silent auction, entertainment by the children from the pre-K classroom, a live auction and awards. Bill Davis spoke about his experiences in dealing with blindness and Ken Overby, parent of a visually impaired girl, shared what BCLC has done for his family.  We thank Ed Blatchford for being our emcee and Billy Humphries of South Coast Auction for being our auctioneer.

Hope to see you all again next year!
