Third Annual 5K Walk DestinationÂ…Independence Enjoyed by All

A big thanks to all who participated in our 5K Walk to support our programs for blind, visually impaired and deaf/blind children.  We thank all our corporate sponsors (click here for sponsor list), volunteers, donors, and of course everyone who walked.

A special thanks to Jaimie Haver who once again was the chair of the event, Dan Kish, our honorary chair, and Kodi Lee for his pre-Walk performance.  We thank our great volunteers who helped in many ways: Boys Community Service League, Paws, Disney VoluntEARS, National Charity League, Brent Bradley, Janice Dempsey, George Guibert, Amy Muller, Rick Russo, Nancy Smith, and Hilda Shum.

Families, friends and donors walked the family friendly 5K Walk; some of the children walked the entire route; others were pushed in wheel chairs or pulled in wagons.  All the children received a ‘gold medal’ as they crossed the finish line.  The fun continue at the family picnic where Brent Bradley served over 300 hot dogs as the children had fun in the Bounce House, played games and had their hair and faces painted.
