Kids Launch Whale at Newport Dunes

Thanks to our friends at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort for a fun experience while learning about sea life.  All the children from the preschool program enjoyed a field trip to the Dunes to launch Moe B. Dunes, the resort's mascot into the bay.  The weather did not know it was to welcome the summer but the kids were bundled up and it didn't rain a drop.

The Resort provided the transportation, the days activities and lunch for all.  The children first could touch a life sized whale on the sand before they went to the water's edge to, with the help of their teachers, push Moe into the water.  The children learned about sea life as they touch starfish and other sea life and teeth, jaws, shells and pelts from animals.
