Food For Thought was a project conceived by one of Blind Children's Learning Center's preschool teachers, Ashley Bastholm.

Ashley is in her second year teaching at Blind Children's Learning Center. Prior to that she spent several years studying and working in Boston, MA where she obtained her Master's degree in teaching children who are blind and visually impaired. She also taught at Perkins School for the Blind for two years before moving to sunny California. Through generous donors, Ashley was able to raise all of the funds necessary to cover the publisher's cost…so every book that is sold directly benefits the children of BCLC.

Not only is Food For Thought a celebration of the efforts of all those who contributed recipes, it is a user-friendly and informative collection of dishes with names such as "Around the World Salad Dressing" and "Tiramisu' alla Marco Gini". There are recipes that are simple, yet sophisticated and others with ethnic roots. Several premier chefs have also contributed to the collection. Each chapter comes with a list of helpful hints and all recipes are listed in the book's Index under their respective categories.

But, the best thing about Food For Thought is that it represents the hearts and kitchens of all those who are making a positive difference in the lives of our Center's children.

Special Thanks to Laura Reynolds for her Cover design and to Adrian Amandi for providing the forward on the history of Blind Children's Learning Center.
