Do you shop at Albertson's or Sav-On?  If you do, did you know Albertson's will contribute a percentage of your purchases to Blind Children's Leanring Center. Each time you shop just present your Community Partners Program Card registered to BCLC.  To receive your card or for more information please contact [email protected]

Blind Children's Learning Center is fortunate to have many friends who have made giving to BCLC a part of their financial and estate planning.
Many have given an outright gift. Some have created a charitable legacy through a bequest. Others have established charitable trusts with BCLC as the final beneficiary. Below are several methods of giving you may find beneficial in your gift, financial, tax and estate planning.

Gifts of Cash
The simplest and most common method of giving to BCLC is an outright gift of cash.

Gifts of Securities
Depending on the length of time held, appreciated securities make an excellent gift, often at a lower, more effective cost than a gift of cash. Giving appreciated stock to BCLC results in a double tax savings. You can deduct the current fair market value of the securities and you avoid paying tax on the capital gains.

Gifts by Bequest
If you want to leave your mark on the world, why not influence the lives of children and have an impact on their future as well. Create a personal legacy by including BCLC in your will or living trust.
There are several types of bequests: fixed amount, percentage of estate, residual of estate, and contingency requests. Using assets such as IRAs, 401Ks, pension plans and other qualified retirement plans will result in the greatest tax savings.

Gifts of Life Insurance
You can buy a policy and donate directly, or contribute a policy that is no longer needed. To qualify for a tax deduction, BCLC must be designated as both owner and beneficiary.

Gifts that provide you with Income for Life
You can create a charitable trust, which can provide you with an income for life. When the trust terminates, the remaining principle is used to support BCLC. These arrangements are frequently used by people who own highly appreciated and/or low-income-producing assets, which they would like to convert to produce a higher income without triggering capital-gain taxes.

Gifts by Bargain Sale
You can sell an asset to BCLC for a price that is below its fair market value. The difference between the sale price and the market value is a charitable gift.

Gifts of Residence
You can give your home to BCLC now, while retaining the right to use and live in it during your lifetime. Doing so entitles you to an immediate income-tax deduction.

Other Ways You Can Help

Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Special people and special occasions are worth remembering. A gift to BCLC is an ideal way to honor the person and occasion while at the same time helping to make a difference in the health or your own community. A memorial or tribute gift is especially meaningful for:

Matching Gifts
Many companies match the charitable contributions of their employees. You can double the impact of your gift by utilizing your company's matching gift program. Ask your human resource department for a matching gift form.

Gifts In-Kind
Your in-kind gifts of supplies and services are welcomed and appreciated. These gifts help reduce our expenses so that more of our resources can go directly into programs.

Vehicle Donation
Donate that old car to BCLC and drive home the message of supporting the children. You will receive a tax deduction for the full blue book value. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Center. Call 1-888-543-5766 for details and free pick-up.

All contributions are tax deductible. IRS Tax ID # 95-6097023
