Programs & Services:
Braille Instruction
Braille
literacy statistics in blind and visually impaired students and adults, have
been documented as being as low as 12 percent in some studies. Blind and
visually impaired students should be held accountable for Braille literacy
as their sighted peers are accountable for reading literacy. Therefore, depending
on the student's needs, Braille Instruction is offered as a direct service
to the students we service. This includes instruction in reading and writing
Braille as well as making classroom adaptations in Braille (labeling) and
Brailling classroom assignments.
