BRIGHT VISIONS
EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER

ON-SITE INCLUSIVE childcare and learning environment for children ages 0-3
Bright Visions Early Childhood Center is Blind Children's Learning Center's on-site childcare and adaptive learning environment for infants and toddlers (ages 0-3).

____________
Children with visual impairments and other disabilities need specialized support in learning settings. Bright Visions provides a critical component of early intervention by helping children get ready to thrive in classroom settings once they enter preschool with their local school district.

Our multi-sensory curriculum and multidisciplinary approach meets state standards while providing specialized training in sensory development, utilization of low vision, and adaptive skills. A highly inclusive environment allows children with visual impairments to learn and play alongside children with sight.*

Because early intervention is the most opportune time to help children overcome early obstacles, this component of BCLC's early intervention programming specializes in promoting:
  • Pre-academic concepts
  • Adaptive learning modalities and approaches to literacy
  • Social & emotional development
  • Developmental progress through group weekly Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy sessions in addition to individualized therapy services based on the child's needs
  • Early adaptive technology training
  • School readiness

For more information about Bright Visions Early Childhood Center and enrollment, please contact Christian Cantoran, Site Supervisor, at christian.cantoran@blindkids.org or (714) 573-8888 ext. 1111.
Goodbye Winter
Sensory Wall
Scarlett is just one student overcoming the obstacles of her blindness. She loves pounding the keys of a Brailler, and her ability to walk independently is rapidly improving since enrolling in Fall 2016. Her teacher and mom notice her vocabulary growing daily as she interacts with peers.
Access to assistive technology such as magnification allows children with moderate to severe visual impairments use their limited vision to its potential.
Braille education is crucial to longterm academic success and future employment opportunities.
Sensory play allows children to learn with their whole body. This helps children compensate for a lack of vision and is beneficial for overall healthy development.
The Total Communication System helps children get used to a schedule and transition between activities.
