YOUTH OUTREACH

SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF K-12 STUDENTS

Elementary and high school students who have mainstreamed into the public school system continue to receive specialized training to ensure success during their school age years.

____________
Credentialed Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) travel to public school classrooms throughout Orange County to provide instruction in Braille or low vision modalities, and adaptive technology training. TVIs collaborate with public school teachers to ensure that lesson plans are appropriately adapted to the individual needs of children who are blind and visually impaired.

Orientation & Mobility training becomes more advanced over time so that children can navigate more of the world independently. This results in increased confidence and independence in school, at home and in the community.
