Children Ages 3-8 (parent participation available)
Winter Session Starts Saturday, February 6, 2021
Affordable Sliding Scale Pricing

Blind Children's Learning Center launches new programming for children ages 3-8, and we hope you can participate! Weekend Enrichment Services elevate learning for young children with visual impairments and other disabilities. Your child will learn and play in small groups in order to provide tailored support and promote:
  • Adaptive approaches to literacy
  • Sensory development — did you know? 80% of early learning is driven by vision, meaning your child will benefit from engaging all their senses in learning
  • Imaginative play
  • Peer & social development
  • Musicology
  • Adaptive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.)
  • Adaptive technology use
Full Activity Calendar
This new program builds on our decades-long legacy of providing high quality multi-sensory educational services for children with visual impairments. With children now enrolled within school district classrooms and limited in-person learning opportunities, give your child the best opportunity to make continued progress and discover their love of learning in a nurturing, adaptive environment.

Parents may opt to participate alongside their child in order to maximize program benefits to the entire family. Most activities can be replicated in the home with everyday materials!

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

Blind Children's Learning Center has successfully operated limited in-person services since May 11, 2020. Our success is thanks to staff and families continually respecting up-to-date safety guidelines since that time. Current protocols include:
  • Masks must be worn properly by all adults while on BCLC campus. Children over the age of 2 should also wear a mask unless this poses a safety or health risk for the child.
  • Service providers must wear a face shield in addition to mask while in close contact with children and families.
  • Frequent handwashing is encouraged
  • Each time a staff member, child, parent, or other individuals arrives to our facilities, they must first visit our outdoor check-in station to receive a touchless temperature check and answer the following health questionnaire:
    1. Do you currently have (or have you had in the last 24 hours) any of the following: fever, cough, shortness of breath, severe illness?
    2. Does anyone in your household have (or have they had in the last 24 hours) any of the following: fever, cough, shortness of breath, severe illness?
    3. Have you been in close contact during the last 2 weeks with someone diagnosed with COVID-19?
    4. Have you travelled outside of California in the last 14 days?

We cannot allow access to in-person services if the answer to any of the above questions is 'Yes'. During online registration, guardians will agree to comply with the most current health and safety guidelines of Blind Children's Learning Center, which are developed based on adherence to the best guidance and practices from the CDC, California Department of Public Health, Orange County Department of Education, and local governments in which BCLC serves and operates.
OUR MISSION: To prepare children with visual impairments for a life of independence through early intervention, education and family support.
