Dear Friends,

My time as a preschooler at Blind Children’s Learning Center seems like forever ago, but I still remember so much.

Little did I know that while I was home for summer break, people like you made sure I had an amazing school to return to in the fall.

While being blind poses challenges, I could succeed with the right tools and determination. I stayed determined. This June, I graduated from high school, and you helped make that possible! I can’t wait to study voice and musical theater at college beginning this fall.

I’m grateful to everyone who invested in my future. Thank you for making sure I could dream. Now, an anonymous donor has pledged a matching gift challenge so that more children have the opportunity to dream.

You can fulfill twice the dreams by donating today. So that every child can dream when they return to school this fall, an anonymous donor is challenging you to support by matching all gifts up to $2,500 — dollar for dollar — until Thursday, August 23.
Support Today
I got a strong start in life at Blind Children’s Learning Center with access to special equipment, technology, and teachers who understood my needs and unique gifts. Your support will help children get the same strong start in life.

Because of my strong foundation, I dream of singing on Broadway and producing my own shows. Please give today so more kids — kids like me — can dream.

We can do so much when you believe in us.

Sincerely,
Danielle

Pre-Kindergarten students at Blind Children's Learning Center graduated on Friday, July 14, 2017. Family, friends, and supporters gathered to celebrate their many accomplishments and stories of perseverance.

Teachers had a chance to honor each child's unique gifts and the obstacles they have overcome. Brooklyn is Brailling many letters and has become a true social butterfly. Taya, who is affectionate to all, loves the Technology lab and is reading and writing more words in Braille every day. Ryan, who is a deeply empathetic sighted peer, is a true friend in learning alongside his classmates.

Independence is truly within reach.
Support Next Year's Graduates
Many children will continue building a strong foundation for independence at Blind Children's Learning Center in the fall. Children can now attend Blind Children's Learning Center through second grade thanks to the recent expansion of the on-site Bright Visions Early Childhood Center program. Other children will transition to public school classrooms, where credentialed Teachers of the Visually Impaired and an Orientation & Mobility specialist will continue to support their education and navigation needs.
